Yu Yue, Shi Jianguo - Joint Exhibition

The joint exhibition showcase works by Chinese artists Yu Yue and Shi Jianguo. 

Yu has incessantly explored the diversity of painting on paper. The technique, of which, he employs is extreme complex. His latest series - "Dissociate", depicts abstract "wandering" bats against figurative backgrounds, is a metaphor for swift, disorder and contradictive state of mind. 

Shi’s portrait painting is characterised by a unique blend of figuration; it is a reflection of China’s transition from post-war period to Modern period, in socio-cultural context; and how Westernisation had an influence on young generation’s mindset and life style.
