Artist Biography

Sun Chengxin, born on 8th January 1946 in Liaoning Province, is famous for his Chinese painting. He graduated from Beijing Arts and Crafts School and subsequently worked at Beijing Red-Light Art Factory. In 1984, He was assigned a position in People’s Fine Arts Publishing House till now. Concurrently, he is a member of China Artists Association, director of China Federation of Literary, Art and Calligraphy Center, special painter of Rong Bao Zhai, and honorary president of American New England Artists Association.

Sun commits himself to exploring the deepness of Chinese traditional calligraphy and painting, including but not limited to landscape, portrait, plants, bridges, boats and any subjects he could imagine. In the paintings of Sun, we would be amazed by the profound of doctrines of Buddhism, in which the joy of living was illustrated comprehensively. However, his paintings are more than the religion itself, but of the devotional praises of Truthfulness, Compassion and Beauty. Filial piety and righteousness of Confucianism, together with Taoist style of idyll are presented in harmony.
